Located in a tranquil seaside village between Tangalle and Hambantota, this
villa is just the miracle. This is a paradise for holidaymakers on the beach
with the whole family, for couples or newlyweds who are seeking for tranquility,
the paradise nature or the charm of the rustle of ocean waves or the rhythm of
authentic rural Sri Lanka. The villa is offered for rent on full basis as
well as by the required number of rooms. The villa can be rented for a short as
well as for a very long time period on request.

To the east of the
lagoon there is one of the parts of Kahandamodara called Modara Goda. It is a suburb of the
lagoon with seasonal water meadows, which are filled with water after rains or
spill in the lagoon of high-level days. Quiet, picturesque, safe for walking
under the cool shady trees and palms. It just wanted to sit down in a clearing
and immerse yourself in meditation or simply contemplate the indescribable
beauty of nature. The confluence of the lagoon with the ocean is called Modara
in Sinhala. In honor of this picturesque place, located 300 meters from our
villa, the property was named Villa Modara (“The villa at the lagoon delta”).
A skilled cook will immediately prepare whatever you want for you: tasty
lagoon shrimps, lobsters or Sri Lankan rice with tuna
in curry sauce. Try also spicy salad Pol Sambol made of coconuts with
spices. This dish is served on a banana leaf. The cook will be happy to tell you all the secrets; will show the process of preparing refined dishes. The chef
will take care of how to satisfy every your taste buds.
While on vacation at Villa Modara you can go for shopping by a tuk-tuk or a taxi to Tangalle. You can also, without leaving the villa, give instructions to the team, and we will make purchases for you while you relax.
WHAT TO DO?
Villa Modara - this is an authentic Sri Lankan villa 150 meters to the beach. This is the place for dreams and pastime in the real style of Robinson Crusoe. Residents of a nearby rural community can be extremely useful for you, so that you enjoy your holiday with friends and family. They live their own lives, and you can study, how. You can play cricket with them, enjoy the taste of freshly cut royal coconuts, make grill from squids, shrimps or freshly caught fish near the reefs. Villa Modara is located 210 km (about 2 and a half hours to drive) from the capital city of Colombo, near the newly constructed South A2 highway. From the villa it's about 15 km (20 minutes to drive) to the resort town of Tangalle. Here the world-famous project for the rescue and conservation of sea turtles works, and in Kalamatiya you can visit the first bird sanctuary in Sri Lanka, which is just 4 kms away from the villa.
54 kilometers of golden sandy
beaches lie between Tangalle and Hambantota. There are many places of interest here. In Kalamatiya, go
to the bird sanctuary by foot or take a boat tour. It is in the coastal zone,
which is more frequented by birds than humans. It is an ideal place to observe
birds in their natural habitat. In 15 minutes to step from the Villa Modara
there is Rekawa - the
most famous place for sea turtles to land. Here you can observe how the turtles
go from the sea to the shore to lay eggs along the beach. An hour and a half
drive is the point of observation of whales and sea dolphins. This is the town
of Mirissa.
Visit the National Yala Park, too. Just an hour on the road, and you are in one of the most visited and 2nd largest park of Sri Lanka. Here live, for example, leopards. Udawalawe National Park is about an hour and a half away, famous for its wild elephants and spotty deer, along with a myriad of endemic birds. Botanical Garden in Bata Atha is located just 5 km away from the Villa Modara, and we can arrange for you a walk to this amazingly beautiful place! Bundala National Park is one and a half hours away known for its flamingos. They can be seen in August, when many of these birds fly here far from the north for the winter. For those wishing to know the ancient history of the island, it will be interesting to visit Mulkirigala Rock Temple. In 45 minutes to drive there is an ancient monastery, also known as the «Second Lion Rock». The monastery was built in the 2nd century BC. Ancient caves with statues and frescoes just need to see!

Modara is ideally located on the edge of the wide golden sandy beach, as far as
the eyes can see. Massive coconut palms surround this colorful corner of the
Earth. Together with the wind and the caressing hearing of the surf of the
Indian Ocean, this is nothing but a tropical paradise! The villa is located in close
proximity to the bird sanctuary, several lagoons, sea turtle nursery,
fishing village, huge Bata Atha botanical garden and the ancient
temple. It is here that you can calmly sunbathe to a bronze shade of the skin,
without worrying that someone will disturb you on a deserted and virgin beach. You can
swim in the dairy heat of the ocean waters or inspect the living bottom with a
breathing tube.
Villa Modara consists of three rooms. Each room is equipped with
air conditioning, toilet, shower with hot and cold water, as well as all the
necessary facilities for hygiene. There are large double beds in the rooms. The
villa has a separate living and dining area, as well as a fully equipped
pantry, guests kitchen & laundry and a fabulous tropical garden. Coconut garden
in front of the villa goes directly to the beach. You can watch the beach and
the greens spending time on your balcony or on the spacious roof which is so
adorable by our guests. Believe us – incredible views are waiting for you to be
seen from the roof zone. Breath slowly, admire with sunrises and sunsets, have
